Since the release of Tripo P2.0, our community has continuously pushed the boundaries of 3D creation. From indie game prototypes to automated workflows, the innovation never stops.

Today, we are highlighting a revolutionary open-source character modeling support kit created by our community partner Nano (@Dstudio_ai): Charakuru (きゃらくる).

Creating high-quality 3D character models from a single illustration has always been a challenge. Fully automated AI can sometimes result in messy topology or dirty textures, while doing it manually requires a steep learning curve in Blender. Charakuru bridges this gap perfectly.

The Magic of "You Review, The Agent Works"

Charakuru is a collaborative local kit that packages Nano’s original 3D workflow into a local app, utilizing advanced AI agents (like GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Astra via Computer Use) as your personal 3D assistants.

The core philosophy is simple: You make the creative decisions, and the AI agent does the heavy lifting.

You do not need to know how to operate Blender, fix weights, or handle complex VRM setups. The agent drives Blender and Tripo behind the scenes. You simply use a clean local app to:

1. Import your single full-body 2D illustration.

1. Review the multi-view images generated by the agent.

1. Choose the best 3D head and body candidates generated via Tripo's Smart Mesh.

1. Adjust proportions.

1. Check the motion (walk cycle) directly in the app.

There is no exporting, importing, or re-saving files by hand. The agent stops at checkpoints, waits for your visual judgment, and then moves to the next step.

Charakuru leverages the power of Tripo P2.0. By utilizing our latest Smart Mesh generation, the kit quickly produces high-quality base meshes.

By combining Tripo’s API with an agentic workflow, Charakuru solves the traditional pain points of AI 3D generation. The agent automatically handles the splitting, retexturing, and rigging inside Blender 5.2, ensuring that the final output is a clean, usable VRM model ready for Vtubing or game development.
