Manus says it will return to operating as an independent company. As part of the transition, some user data created on or after Dec. 29, 2025 — the day Meta announced its acquisition of Manus — will be deleted on Aug. 23–24. Future data will be stored in the U.S. and Singapore.
Manus says new features will again push the limits of general AI agents. But without the backing of a major foundation-model provider, whether it can deliver on that ambition remains an open question.
